I practice data minimization: I collect as little personal information as a task actually requires, keep it only as long as that task needs, and rely on secure, industry-standard third-party processors rather than storing sensitive data myself.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is stored by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), who send the newsletter on my behalf. I use it to email you about books and nothing else. I never sell or share it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list.
If you subscribe from the European Union, you will be asked to separately check a consent box agreeing to this privacy policy before you can join the list. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing.
Shipping and customer data
We only collect and retain customer names and shipping addresses long enough to fulfill book orders, handle customer service requests, and comply with necessary legal, financial, and tax obligations.
Payments
Store payments are processed by Stripe. I do not see or store your card details. Stripe handles them entirely under its own privacy and security policies.
Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form reach me by email and are kept only as long as needed to reply. Your IP address is temporarily logged for a short period solely to prevent spam and abuse of the form, and is not used for any other purpose.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses your browser's local storage (not a traditional cookie, but a similar small piece of data saved on your device) to remember if you have already seen and dismissed the newsletter pop-up, so it does not show again for a week. This stays on your device and is never sent to me.
Third-party tools embedded on this site - Kit and Meta, described below - may set their own cookies under their own policies, which I do not control.
Analytics and advertising
This site uses the Meta Pixel, which records when a page is viewed and when certain links are clicked - for example, clicking "Read more" on a book, or clicking a link that takes you to Amazon. I use this to understand which books and pages generate interest, and to show relevant ads to past visitors on Meta's platforms (Facebook and Instagram). Meta collects, stores, and processes this data according to its own privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask what data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent you previously gave, at any time. This applies everywhere, and readers in the EU and UK have these rights under the GDPR specifically.
